Hello, Williamsburg Parents, Caregivers, and Staff:

On Monday, November 28th, at approximately 6:30 p.m., parents and staff members who have cell phone numbers listed in our PowerSchool student information system will be receiving a text message from the school, and from a company called School Messenger.  School Messenger delivers automated notifications to parents and staff members from the Williamsburg Community Schools.  If you would like to receive text message notifications from the school in the event of a cancellation or delay, an emergency, or other important messages from the district, please respond to the text message THAT YOU RECEIVE with a "Y" or the word "yes."

By opting IN, you agree to receive text messages from Williamsburg Community Schools.  If you'd rather not receive text messages from our school, simply do not respond to the text message invitation.

If, later on, you decide you WOULD like to opt-in, you can do so, and we'll help you at that time.

Again, look for a text message from School Messenger and Williamsburg Schools on Monday, November 28th at around 6:30 p.m. if you'd like to "opt-in" to receive text message notifications.  Reply with a "Y" or the word "yes" if you'd like to receive those messages.

We hope to use School Messenger as a means to provide timely, critical information to our families.  If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me at school (319-668-1059), on my cell phone (319-461-7484) or via e-mail (chadgarber@williamsburg.k12.ia.us).  Have a great day.

Chad Garber, superintendent, Williamsburg Community Schools
